For years, you’ve known us as Veteran Garage Door Repair — a small, local business built from the ground up by Air Force Academy graduate and veteran, Chad Nikolic.

What started as one man in a Nissan Altima with a step stool in the back seat has grown into a trusted local company serving families and businesses across the Tampa Bay Area. For Chad, it’s never really been about garage doors. It’s been about people.

He’s shared stories with fellow veterans sitting in open garages, swapped laughs with first responders after a long shift, and worked side by side with homeowners who treat him like family. That sense of connection — of neighbors helping neighbors — has always been at the heart of everything we do.

Over time, we realized something important:
It’s not just veterans who make our business possible.
It’s patriots — people who love their community and believe in supporting those who serve it. It’s the firefighters, police officers, teachers, nurses, and everyday heroes who choose to hire local instead of corporate.

This name change is for you.

As we move forward as Patriot Garage Door Repair, our mission remains the same: to serve with integrity, craftsmanship, and heart. Our new name and slogan — “Opening Doors for Local Heroes” — reflect not only the work we do, but the purpose behind it.

We’re opening more than garage doors. We’re opening opportunities — creating jobs, giving back to the community, and continuing to support organizations that serve our heroes. 

So while the name on the truck is changing, the veteran behind it remains the same. We’re still your local, veteran-owned and operated garage door pros— here to serve, repair, and open doors for the heroes right here at home.
